Donita
Crenshaw - Vocals
Donita
officially
joined the band in September 2007 as the second female vocalist.
Her
stage presence and vocal ability have brought EAS to a new level of
excellence.
Donita sings harmony with Cheryl Crenshaw, and their vocal blend is
amazing. This incredible duo brings the EAS vocals to a level
unmatched in the industry. Now EAS has a total of 7 singers to
provide the fullest sound possible.
Born
into a musical family and encouraged by her grandmother to listen to
Patsy Cline, Connie Smith, and Loretta Lynn, within a few months she
began singing professionally at the age of 15. While in her teens
Donita also discovered Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstandt, and Cher. All
of these influences can be heard in Donita's own powerful voice.
As a Nashville recording artist Donita toured with her band and was
the opening act for many top artists in the music industry. One of
the highlights of her career came in 1991 when Donita and her band
opened a show with one of her mentors, Grand Old Opry Star Connie
Smith. During the show Connie called Donita up on stage to sing with
her, it was a moment she will never forget.
Donita is also a songwriter, and in 2002 placed 7th out of 210
contestants in the Nashville Star regional contest held in Chicago.
She is a self proclaim "Elvis" fan from birth. "I have always loved
Elvis." "My bedroom wall was adorned with Elvis pictures when I was
12, and some of those same pictures hang in our music room today."
Donita is the wife of EAS bassist Rick Crenshaw. They live in Genoa
IL, and have two grown children Shianna and Dallas. When not on the
road with EAS, Rick and Donita love to spend time with their
families and enjoy singing and playing gospel music in their local
church.
PICTURES OF DONITA (updated monthly)
(due to the fact that Rick & Donita
joined the band only a few short months ago, there are few pictures
of them. A strong effort will be made to obtain many more pictures
in 2008)
